The Flashback Trojan infects millions of Macs

The products of Apple have hardly been vulnerable to viruses or worms. However, history is in the making. There’s a Trojan called Flashback that is on a Mac-infecting spree all over the world. By now, it has taken more than half a million Macs in its grasp and is still threatening to devour many more.
According to the experts in the field, this could potentially be one of the biggest security threats that have hit the Macs until now. It has been more than a couple months now that the Trojan is playing with the Macs and its security. The Trojan targets Macs that are run on the OS X.
Dr. Web is a security solution vendor in Russia, which boasts of the details and how danger the Flashback can be. The United States has seen the largest amount of infected Macs with more than 56%. Canada is at number two and the United Kingdom stands at number three in the most infected list of Macs.
If people visit a JavaScript code, the system gets infected easily. As a matter of fact, there are loads of sites with this malicious code and infected pages. Once the link is activated, an exe file is downloaded and the PC gets infected.
