Sony has finally launched the Xperia S handset in India. It was
a much-awaited and a lot talked of handset from the house of Sony. The handset
is tagged at a price of Rs 32,549. The handset is the first by Sony under the brand
name Sony Mobile Communications. Sony was earlier paired with Ericsson and made
business as Sony Ericsson.
The phone has a 4.3 inch TFT touchscreen and is scratch-resistant.
The screen has a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. The OS in the phone is the Google
Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). The best thing is that with time, you can upgrade it
to Android 4 or Ice Cream Sandwich.
The 1.5 GHz Qualcomm dual-core processor powers the Xperia S.
The phone has 1GB RAM. The 12.1 MP camera is good enough to give you crystal
clear pictures as it also comes with auto focus. LED flash and 16X digital zoom
gives more power to your pictures.
Apart from the 12.1 MP camera, the phone has a 1.3 MP
front-facing camera.
