Google is on the verge of buying mobile messaging service
Whatsapp.
There are reports making speculations that the cost of the app might touch
$1 billion. The source of the reports happens to be the Digital Trends that speak of
Google acquiring the app for the said amount.
However, there are efforts being made by Whatsapp to get a
higher price. But as of now, the price is hanging around the $1 billion mark. It is
difficult to predict right now what the final price tag of the app might be.
There is indeed a tough competition going on to acquire Whatsapp.
Mega social networking site, Facebook, had made an attempt to buy Whatsapp the
previous year. However, Whatsapp still remains unsold. That could have given hope
to give it a shot. To add to it, Facebook had released their custom Android
interface called Home.
